A Lean Six Sigma Practitioner's View on Inventory Reduction

Topic Summary: This presentation will focus on the top 10 ways to reduce inventory and increase turnover, emphasizing that inventory is simply a result of other inputs that must be managed and improved.

Speaker:  Brad Beaird- VP Quality & Supply Chain at Enovation Controls

Brad Beaird is a performance improvement professional, skilled in deploying Lean thinking, Six Sigma problem-solving, Design for Six Sigma, and Change Management across global supply chains. He is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt, and Reliability Engineer, a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and is certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) with APICS.  Brad is currently the Vice President of Quality & Supply Chain for Enovation Controls in Tulsa/San Antonio, which designs and manufactures engine control and monitoring systems for the automotive, industrial, and oil & gas markets.

Prior to joining Enovation Controls, Brad was Director of Operational Excellence & Quality for Nexans-Amercable in Arkansas, a division of a global wire and cable manufacturing company.  Before that he spent several years at Mercury Marine, a boat engine manufacturer, as a Global Lean Six Sigma Deployment Leader, Director of Quality, and as Director of Supply Chain.  Prior to working in manufacturing, Brad served as a Captain in the U.S. Army with the 11^th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Germany, specializing in Tank & Automotive Material Management and maintenance.

Brad received his Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Tulsa and Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University.  He is a former Examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, and a member of the Tulsa ASQ & APICS sections.
